In the 1980s, La Costa buzzed with competition—golf legends played the Tournament of Champions, while stars lit up the courts at the Davis Cup and Carl Reiner Celebrity Tournament. In 1984, nine new holes created the distinct North and South Courses, each with its own story.

La Costa’s iconic Spa drew the powerful and famous—Nixon, Jackie Kennedy, even Chief Justice Earl Warren. Soon, Hollywood’s elite embraced what became known as The La Costa Lifestyle.
